At Harvie and Hudson we provide single and double-breasted waistcoats. What’s the difference you ask? Well, single breasted is for more casual events. It has a sole row of buttons down the front, with a small overlap to permit fastening whereas a double breasted has two rows of buttons, and the front overlaps sufficiently to allow bot flaps to be attached to the opposite row of buttons.
